Wisconsin Green Party Fall membership meeting 2014

The Wisconsin Green Party will hold our 2014 Fall membership meeting on Saturday, November 8th in Milwaukee. At the gathering, we'll vote on new party officers, hear reports on our 2014 campaigns and activities, discuss plans for growing the party, and hold a forum on legalizing marijuana and ending prohibition in Wisconsin.

The Fall gathering is open to all members of the Wisconsin Green Party, as well as anyone who is interested in learning more about the WIGP.

There will also be a meeting of the Coordinating Council on Sunday, November 9th for strategic planning.

Saturday's agenda will be divided into two parts:

10am - 1pm: Meeting to work on state party business (recommended for all Greens who are interested in discussing and voting on state party business)

2pm - 5pm: Marijuana legalization forum and discussion (recommended for everyone interested in learning more about the Wisconsin Green Party)

Proposed Agenda:

10:00-10:15 - Welcome and introductions

10:15-11:00 - Officer elections

11:00-11:30 - Campaign debrief

11:30-12:00 - Membership and finances

12:00-12:30 - Building local Green Party chapters

12:30-1:00 - Spring 2015 local elections and next steps

1:00-2:00 - Lunch break

2:00-3:30 - Green Party Forum on Legalization of Marijuana in Wisconsin: Political and Legal Strategies

Speakers: Molly Collins, American Civil Liberties Union; George Martin, Greater Milwaukee Green Party

3:30-5:00 - Facilitated discussion: Effective local organizing for sustainable progress

Update: Saturday's meeting and forum will be held at UW-Milwaukee, Union 181.

I don't think I can find a way down there for the meeting. Could somebody skype me in? If not, I have one request - can you discuss the issue of the Penokee Hills mine in Northern Wisconsin and see if the WI Green Party would like to issue a formal statement opposing it, and if anyone is interested in a inter-city organized movement to monitor Walker's every move on the mine and help stop it? Thanks!!

Hi all! Hope you're excited for Saturday's meeting. Some logistical info: the meeting will begin at 10am at the UW-Milwaukee Union, room 181. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Union, including veg options. There will be wifi available, and it would be appreciated if folks bring laptops so that members can videoconference in remotely.
