Stevens Point Area Green Party Meeting - February 2015

The meeting will open with an invited presentation about the explosive growth in frac-sand mining, by invited guests from the frac-sands region in the counties to the west of us.

We will also have an update on the Enbridge Line 61 tar sands pipeline and what is being done to slow down, pause, and regulate this line in other parts of the state, and what we can still do locally to contribute to the environmental safety of the line.

Holding a forum for Mayoral candidates on the UW-SP campus focused on sustainability, the eco-municipality question, and climate change issues.

Progress on organizing for a $15 wage for low-paid workers. What is being done?
