Pete Karas Beats a Costly Challenge!

Pete Karas successfully defeated the legal challenge to his nomination petitions for Secretary of State and will be on the ballot this November. We need to raise $13,000 to cover the legal fees it took to get here.  Click here to help!

After collecting more than the required signatures to place Pete on the ballot as the Green Party's candidate for Wisconsin Secretary of State, his nomination was subjected to a formal legal challenge.    The goal was clear: tie up the campaign in legal proceedings, run up costs, and drive a third-party candidate off the ballot before voters ever got a say.   It didn't work. Pete prevailed. His name will be on the ballot this November.

But winning the fight came with a $13,000 legal bill. Every dollar raised here goes directly to paying the attorney fees and court costs the campaign incurred defending Pete's right — and your right — to a real choice on Election Day.

Why This Challenge Was Filed

Pete is running on a platform of electoral reform, government transparency, and ending corporate influence in Wisconsin politics — the exact issues the political establishment would rather not debate in public.

A Secretary of State who answers to the people, not the parties, is a threat to the status quo. That's precisely why this challenge was filed. And that's precisely why we refused to back down.

Help us close out this legal bill so we can get back to the campaign — and the voters — where this race belongs.
