Open positions to be elected at the 2023 Fall Gathering:
1 Co-Chair (2 year term, must have been a Green Party member in good standing for at least 1 year prior)
Recording Secretary (1 year term)
Correspondence Secretary (1 year term)
Operations Treasurer (1 year term)
Elections Treasurer (1 year term)
2 National Committee Representatives (1 year term)
2 National Committee Alternates (1 year term)
Coordinating Council Representatives (1 year terms):
The coordinating council meets once per month (usually by conference call/virtually) to make decisions about Green Party activities between our semi-annual membership meetings. These representatives are often very active in the committees which handle decisions about elections, candidates, events, membership drives, building locals/caucuses/or districts, newsletters, media presence, Green Party materials, the platform, and more.
Besides the 2 Co-Chairs, secretaries, and treasurers, members are elected from a variety of districts, locals, caucuses, and general at-large members for coordinating council representation:
-8 Congressional District Representatives: Each congressional district is to elect one representative
-The Greater Milwaukee Green Party elects one representative
-The Four Lakes Green Party elects one representative
-8 At-large members from any district/local/or group are elected by the general membership
No person can be elected for 2 seats or have more than 1 vote on the coordinating council. For example, the Greater Milwaukee representative cannot be the same person as one of the 8 at-large or the district representation. None of the officers (co-chairs, secretaries, or treasurers) can run for these positions because they are already on the coordinating council as officers. National Committee representatives may run for these seats.
Please identify the position(s) you are running for, and describe your experience with activism and/or the Green Party, as well as why you think you would be a good fit for this position in the box below.
See our Officers and Committees page for descriptions of the roles and responsibilities of Officers and Coordinating Council Members.
Thanks for your interest in building the Wisconsin Green Party!

To be upfront and earnest, I don’t feel like I’m necessarily running for a specific position, I’d like to think of myself as the kind of person who tries to find needs and fill those needs. I’m personally interested in the platform committee and potentially the youth caucus, but I think I could be happy and helpful in a variety of positions. If anybody has any suggestions, I’m eager and willing to get started.
About me: I’m 24 and a law student at UW-Madison who feels strongly that our current American energy production methodologies and energy consumption levels entirely unsustainable. Currently, I work for the Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin defending indigent folks accused of federal crimes in the Western District of Wisconsin. In the past, I have worked at a variety of summer camps that stress sustainability, and I have worked for the Conservation Corps of Minnesota & Iowa. I spearheaded initiatives to reduce waste and reduce energy consumption at Beloit College as the student body Vice-President and Financial Director.
In my personal life, I have taken steps to reduce my environmental impact; my yearly energy consumption(carbon footprint) is now roughly 2.5 standard deviations below the average American adult. I’m always working hard to do more. However, now I would like to start implementing policy changes on the local level. For example, San Francisco banned plastic shopping bags in 2007. Governor Walker blocked Wisconsin municipalities from following suit with S.B. 730 several years ago. Now that Governor Evers is in office, it seems likely that we could get single-use plastic bags out of Madison and out of our landfills. I believe this could be a meaningful goal that could be accomplished in under a year, which I would like to work on. I have several other ideas in the works as well.
Basically, I find myself with quite a bit of free time and a passion for green activism, and I think becoming involved in local Green politics would be a good outlet for me.
Thanks for the consideration!
Alex
I’d like to bring Information Technology to the forefront as much as I can. This includes improving security and privacy practices, as well as letting the younger generations know that this is intrinsic to the party as we move forward. I will also bring representation for Atheism/Humanism.
I was our candidate for Governor; I am a National Committee delegate; I am former Co-Chair and I continue to be active in moving the WIGP forward.
I have been a supporter of the GP since its inception. I had been elected to the CC a couple of years ago but had to step down for personal reasons. I now have the time needed to be effective.
I have been active in Veterans for Peace, have done a lot of street work, talking to people, organizing events and marches. Member of 350.org. Have participated in many environmental promoting events. Peace is my main passion.
I want to see our values change from profit acquisition and materialism to protecting the planet, its life, and to uplift humanity. I strongly believe the purpose of government is to uplift the people and protect the planet.

I have been affiliated with the Green Party since the mid 90s. and have worked to publicize and gain membership through street work and online activism.
I stand by the ten key values.
I have been very active on the local, state, and national level working for change in equality, environment, social justice, and peace. Although I was not able to have a directly active roll in the party in the past, other than short spurts, I now have the time needed to become an active member and help bring the party forward in the years to come.
I feel very strongly that the State of Wisconsin and the nation can benefit greatly by electing Green Party representatives.
