WI Greens seeking candidates for 2024 and beyond

Have you thought about running for office? The Wisconsin Green Party is seeking candidates for 2024 elections who share our values and vision of people, planet, and peace over profit. In September 2023, a Gallup poll found that a record high 63% of US voters believe the two establishment parties do such a poor job representing the people that we need a new major party. There has never been a better - or more important - time to lead the way in building a party that serves the people. With elections coming up in Fall 2024, now is a great time to think about running for office as a Wisconsin Green. Continue reading

Wisconsin Green Party Responds to New Legislative Maps

The Wisconsin Green Party (WIGP) welcomes the new legislative maps recently signed by Governor Evers. We recognize that these maps can help put an end to the Republican gerrymandering that has distorted the representation of the people of Wisconsin during the past decade. We believe that these maps are fairer and more accurate than the previous ones, and that they will give more voice and choice to Wisconsin voters in upcoming elections. Continue reading

Green Party Stands Unequivocally Against Anti-Semitism

The Wisconsin Green Party Coordinating Council was dismayed by the actions of Cynthia McKinney, former Democratic U.S. House Member from 1993 to 2003 and 2008 Green Party presidential nominee, who on the morning of September 11 promoted an event hosted in part by white supremacist David Duke which characterized Jewish people as a “common enemy.”In no uncertain terms, the Wisconsin Green Party condemns this event, its organizers, its promoters, and the vile hatred at its core. The Wisconsin Green Party, as part of the Green Party of the United States, holds respect for diversity and anti-racism as a core value. Cynthia McKinney has no current relationship or affiliation with the Wisconsin Green Party or the Green Party of the United States, and has not for years. We condemn her promotion of this event and call on all parties and organizations, including the Democratic Party with whom she served for a decade as a US House Representative, to do the same.

The Milwaukee Mirage: Republican Debate Skirts the Real Climate Crisis

Even as Wisconsin continues to experience the sweltering ramifications of a changing climate, the Republican debate in Milwaukee was shockingly silent on the most urgent crisis of our time: climate change. The recent heat wave, which was at the center of an alarming heat dome, should have been a wake-up call to our leaders. Yet, the majority of Republican candidates chose to turn a blind eye to the dire consequences facing our state, and by extension, our world. Continue reading

The Wisconsin Green Party Coordinating Council wishes to address recent claims and assertions suggesting an affiliation between the Wisconsin Green Liberty Caucus (also known as Wisconsin Liberty Greens and/or Green Liberty Caucus WI) and the Wisconsin Green Party (WIGP). We believe it is essential to clarify that the Wisconsin Green Liberty Caucus is not in any way affiliated with the Wisconsin Green Party. Continue reading
