Cynthia McKinney Campaigns in Wisconsin - Day One

Cynthia McKinney campaigned in Wisconsin this Friday (Sept. 5) and Saturday (Sept. 6) in Milwaukee, Racine, Baraboo, and Madison. She got a lot of great local press while she was here, including print media, radio, and web media.

On the way down to Milwaukee from Oshkosh, I got to hear AM 1490 WRJN radio out of Racine interviewing Cynthia McKinney live by phone - a great omen for the day! The local newscaster Don Rosen was genuinely pleased to be interviewing McKinney and she got very good treatment on a popular area station.

Friday started with a lunch fund raiser at the home of George Martin of United for Peace and Justice.

From there we headed to Racine, a city of around 70,000 between Milwaukee and Chicago. The first stop was a "Town Hall Meeting" at Walden III, an alternative public middle and high school, where she addressed some 500 students and teachers. The Principal introduced her to the student body by stating: "We are really proud and honored to have the Green Party candidate for President here at our school. Listen to the Four Pillars of the Green Party, because they very much reflect the values and guiding principles of our school: Non-violence, Ecological Wisdom, Social Justice, Grassroots Democracy."
